Greenberg Traurig adds former SEC Counsel Michael Piazza

Michael Piazza, a former Regional Trial Counsel for the Los Angeles office of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has joined the Orange County office of 1750-lawyer firm Greenberg Traurig LLP. Piazza moves to Greenberg Traurig from Dorsey & Whitney where he was a partner in the trial, regulatory and technology practice group and co-chair of that firm’s securities litigation and enforcement practice group. Piazza, who focuses his practice on securities, intellectual property, and complex commercial litigation, joins Greenberg Traurig’s securities litigation practice group as head of the Orange County office’s practice. The addition of Piazza follows closely on Greenberg Traurig’s other 2009 addition of securities litigation attorneys Terry Weiss in Atlanta, and of Paul Bessette, Michael Biles and Jesse Weiss to its Austin, Texas office.
