Weil Gotshal's Lehman bankruptcy fees exceed $100m
Weil Gotshal & Manges is set to pass the $100m mark in total billings on the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, reports legalweek. Weil Gotshal's first request for $55m for the period of September 2008 to January 2009 has already been approved. According to a second application, Weil Gotshal billed an additional 86,000 hours between February and May 2009. Six City partners were identified as the biggest billers: Mike Francies, Matthew Shankland, Jacky Kelly, Sarah Priestly, Anthony Horspool and Andrew Norwood all billed $1,005 per hour. According to the report, bankruptcy associate Sunny Singh worked more than 988 hours in four months, which equates to 11,5 billable hours a day in a five-day week.
