Squire Sanders chairman steps aside after 20 years in top role - Legalweek
Squire Sanders & Dempsey has elected a new chairman for the first time in 20 years. James Maiwurm, who has been the top 60 US firm's global managing partner since 2003, is to take on the chairman role from Thomas Stanton. Stanton, who has been the firm's chair since 1990, was ineligible for re-election due to a clause in the firm's partnership agreement. Maiwurm started his legal career at Squire Sanders in 1974 and has spent the majority of his career with the firm. He also established Squire Sanders' Northern Virginia office in 2001.
