Barclays adds legal chief Harding to excutive committee
Barclays has handed a seat at its executive table to general counsel Mark Harding after a shake-up of the bank's executive committee. Harding, who joined the banking giant in 2003 from Clifford Chance, will take a seat on the 11-member committee and will report to chief executive John Varley. He is joined on the committee by chief risk officer Robert Le Blanc and group human resources director Cathy Turner. The appointments are part of an overhaul of the bank's committee, which will see the departure of chief executive of global retail Frits Seeger. He will be replaced by Anthony Macdonald.
