Cleary Gottlieb and Latham & Watkins advise on Nortel sale

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton partners James Bromley and Lisa Schweitzer represented Nortel on its $769 million sale of its optical networking unit to Ciena Corp., a Maryland-based fiber optic network builder, which beat out a competing bid from Nokia Siemens Networks. Latham & Watkins M&A partner David Dantzic was handling the deal for Ciena.
