Longtime Skadden Chicago chief Wayne Whalen steps aside

Wayne Whalen, 70, stepped aside Friday as head of the Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Whalen was one of six former partners at Mayer Brown LLP who set up a Skadden branch office in Chicago in 1984, making it Skadden's busiest office in the late '80s. 49-year-old Mergers and acquisitions specialist Brian Duwe is taking over as head of Chicago office.
