Survey: Indian law firms need to be more tech savvy

A majority of Indian lawyers feel that law firms in the country are not technologically savvy and should gear up on that front to stay relevant. A majority of them also feels that if law firms are allowed to advertise, there should be an independent body to regulate the advertisements. This was revealed in a national legal survey which predicted modest growth, innovation and consolidation of Indian law firms in 2010. According to the survey conducted by rainmaker, 91% of the respondents felt that law firms should make partners responsible for technological upgradation of the firms. Almost 45% said that law firms should be allowed to use advertising options, as long they are not misinforming the public. However, 80.4% among them felt that an outside body should regulate the advertisements.
