Orrick lawyer demands end to Apple tablet 'scavenger hunt'

January 19, 2010 Valleywag, at tech industry gossip site run by Gawker Media, announced on 13 January that it is offering up to $100,000 reward for information about Apple's much-anticipated tablet computer, which is rumoured to debut sometime between 25 and 27 January 2010 during a media event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

Michael Spillner of the Menlo Park office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe now demanded in a letter that Gawker stop the tablet “scavenger hunt", threatening that if the contest is not retracted by 6 pm Pacific time on Thursday, Apple may pursue “any and all remedies” against both the organizers of the contest and anyone who wins it.
