Former White House counsel Gregory Craig joins Skadden

Gregory B. Craig, former White House counsel and an adviser to President Obama, has landed back at top US firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom just a few weeks after leaving the West Wing. The firm announced that Craig has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington office leading a new Global Policy and Litigation Strategy Practice Group. Craig was replaced in November by Perkins Coie’s Bob Bauer after Obama administration officials reportedly grew dissatisfied over Craig’s management of Guantanamo policy and other matters. Craig who spent about three decades at the Washington firm of Williams & Connolly said that he opted to go to Skadden because of its global reach, the broader scope of its practice and its offices around the world.
