Clayton Utz loses another partner and begins to rebuild

March 16, 2010 Top tier Australian firm Clayton Utz has felt the impact of Allen & Ovary’s touchdown in Australia, with the defection of 14 senior partners to their new local rival.

Today it has been reported that Clayton Utz has lost another senior partner, this time to rival firm Middletons. Joanne Daniels practises in corporate law, specialising in the areas of competition law and trade practices. She is set to join the corporate group at Middletons.

Clayton Utz has fast tracked the promotion of six new partners in a bid to renew the depleted partnership. The new partners are Matthew Daley in financial services in Sydney, Rohan Mishra in corporate advisory in Perth, Rory Moriarty in energy and resources in Sydney, Steven Power in government services in Canberra, Toby Ryston-Pratt in M&A in Sydney, and Alexander Schlosser in financial services in Sydney.

The firm said it would make further announcements in the coming months.
