Slaughter and May announce two new partners

Slaughter and May has announced the addition of two lawyers to its partnership: London-based corporate partner Richard Smith and Hong Kong-based corporate finance partner Lisa Chung. Chung has been a local partner at the firm since 2006, but will take up a position in the worldwide partnership in the new financial year. Slaughter and May senior partner Chris Saul said: "We are delighted with both these appointments. Lisa's energy and broadly-based legal skills are hugely valuable to our Asia practice and Richard is an enormously talented addition to our corporate team in London. "The fact that both new partners work in the corporate field is not a reflection of market forces - we make partner appointments for the long term based on the qualities of the individuals concerned." The promotions will take partner numbers to 128, with 104 male and 24 female partners.
