Baker & McKenzie hire BLG regulatory partner

Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG) regulatory partner Ian Mason has left the firm for a post at Baker & McKenzie. Mason joined BLG in 2006, and his departure will strike a blow to BLG’s plan to renew management after a string of departures in recent years, according to a report today in The Lawyer. BLG has insisted that the financial services practice ‘remains a key strategic priority’ and said it would be ‘unaffected by Ian’s departure’.
