Mayer Brown announces further layoffs

April 9, 2010 Mayer Brown has circulated an internal memo informing staff of a further round of layoffs. The memo says that the firm is letting go of 28 associates and 47 staffers, while offering assurances that Mayer Brown is off "to a positive start" in 2010, and that the firm's finances will be strong going forward.

These cuts to the Mayer Brown workforce follow the firm’s decision to lay off 45 lawyers in April 2009, and 33 associates and counsel in November 2008.
