Bingham McCutchen hires top securities lawyer
Bingham McCutchen has attracted top talent Susan Merrill to the partnership. Merrill has spent a total of six years as head of enforcement for the New York Stock Exchange regulatory arm and the entity that succeeded it, and then became the head of enforcement at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. She is set to join Bingham McCutcheon’s New York broker-dealer group as a partner this week. Bingham Chairman Jay S Zimmerman said: “Susan is a recognized leader in the securities field”, and added that “Her arrival to Bingham exemplifies our investment and commitment to building the strongest securities team and advising clients in the most complex matters, nationally and globally.” Bingham McCutchen is currently in a strong position, with revenues rising 12 per cent to $860 million in 2009, while profits per partner increased 2 per cent to nearly $1.45 million.
