Freshfiields and Herbert Smith lead £1.59bn Deutsche Bahn - Arriva deal

April 22, 2010 Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Herbert Smith have scored key roles advising on the £1.59bn acquisition by Deutsche Bahn of European public transport services provider Arriva.

Deutsche Bahn was advised by a Freshfields team led by corporate partners Barry O'Brien and Piers Prichard Jones in London and Thomas Buecker in Frankfurt. The team also includes Brussels antitrust partners Frank Montag and Thomas Wessely, regulatory partners Richard Phillips in London and Marcel Kaufmann in Berlin, and London employment partners Kathleen Healy and David Pollard.

Arriva called upon the services of Herbert Smith, who provided a team led by London corporate partner Gillian Fairfield.
