Linklaters appoints new Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa chief

May 3, 2010 Linklaters has appointed Sandeep Katwala as managing partner of its operations in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Katwala replaces Stuart Salt, who has shifted to take over as Asia managing partner. Katwala has been head of Linklaters' India practice for six years, and will continue in that role alongside his new responsibilities.

"The CEE, Middle East, Russia and Africa are important and dynamic markets," Simon Davies, Linklaters' managing partner, said. "Sandeep's broad experience in Asia, including his success in building our India practice, make him ideally suited to this key leadership role."
