UK Cabinet Office releases salary information for public employees

The UK Cabinet Office has issued a list disclosing the pay packages of civil servants earning more than £150,000 as part of a new effort – on the part of the new coalition government - to increase transparency. All government departments are set to follow suit in the coming weeks. First parliamentary counsel Stephen Laws has one of the highest public incomes, in the pay bracket £225,000-£229,999. Also making the list are a number of solicitors at the Crown Prosecution Service, including David Green QC, the director of the revenues and customs division, who earns between £210,000 and £214,999, and director of public prosecutions Keir Starmer QC, who earns £195,000-£199,999.
