SJ Berwin posts 7% drop in revenue, 9% increase in PEP

SJ Berwin has announced a drop in revenue in the 2009-10 financial year of 7 per cent, with income falling from £184 million to £171 million. This year’s figures are at least some improvement on those of last year, when the firm posted a drop in revenue of 14 per cent. Despite the fall in revenue, average profit per equity partner rose by 9 per cent, and partners took home an average of £447,000, up from £410,000 in 2008-09. In 2007-08 equity partners took an average of £801k. Senior partner Jonathan Blake said: “Last year we set ourselves the goal of raising profitability and we’ve achieved that because we’re focused on profit not revenue, on delivering a high quality service to clients in key industry sectors, and on sensible expenditure management.
