Blackstone Group recruits top legal talent from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett

Private-equity giant Blackstone Group has appointed a new senior managing director and chief legal officer, with both roles converging in their new recruit: John Finley, formerly a partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Finley was the head of Simpson’s global M&A practice, and also specialized in corporate governance. He will take over from Robert Friedman in September.
