16 per cent of young associates want out
UK recruitment consultancy Badenoch & Clark has released the results of a new survey, claiming that 24 per cent of young lawyers are looking to leave the profession this year. One third of that group aims to take an extended break from their legal career, while the remainder (16 per cent of young associates) wish to leave the law completely. The high number of associates wanting out of their chosen careers was attributed personality and management issues, poor work/life balance and the introduction of merit based pay without consultation.
