Dewey & LeBoeuf ‘pauses’ summer program in three US offices
Dewey & LeBoeuf has announced that its 2011 summer program will be ‘paused’ in Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston. The number of people affected by the decision is relatively small – three in Chicago, three in LA and one or two in Houston.
AboveTheLaw points out that large firms face a difficult task in determining their hiring needs a year in advance, and many firms are attempting to be cautious in taking on new recruits in an unstable market. Meanwhile, associates who were offered a year-long deferral in 2009 are on their way back to the firm and will need to be reintegrated.
