Covington & Burling bolster international trade and finance practice with new hire

US firm Covington & Burling has boosted its international trade and finance practice with the hire of Peter Lichtenbaum. Lichtenbaum joins the partnership after leaving his role as vice president for regulatory compliance and international policy at BAE Systems Inc, the US subsidiary of the world’s largest defence contractor, BAE Systems. “Peter’s senior-level positions at both the Commerce Department and BAE Systems have provided him with exceptional experience working with defence contractors and other companies active in the defence, aerospace, intelligence and homeland security fields,” said Peter Flanagan, management committee member and partner in Covington & Burling’s international practice.
