Clifford Chance appoints global real estate head

Clifford Chance has elected Spanish practice chief Alfonso Benavides to the position of global real estate head. Benavides will succeed Cliff McAuley, who has led the group since 2003 and is now retiring from the firm. Clifford Chance’s managing partner David Childs commented: "Alfonso is well respected by colleagues and clients alike and already has a strong global understanding of the firm through his client work and involvement with the partner selection group. I am confident he will bring drive, energy and enthusiasm to his leadership of the practice."
