Seven Weil Gotshal associates discover they are not qualified

A number of Weil, Gotshal & Manges associates have made the rather embarrassing realisation that by failing to complete the Professional Skills Course they have never been properly qualified for legal work. Seven trainees had the mistaken understanding that studying courses at the College of law meant that they could miss a chunk of the Professional Skills Course. There is some dispute over whether the mistake is the fault of the firm or of the College. A spokeswoman for Weil said that this was a "genuine mistake which has since been rectified" by putting those affected through another course to complete the training.
