Taiwanese law firms to be permitted on mainland China

September 16, 2010 Taiwanese law firms will soon be allowed to establish offices in mainland China, providing legal services to Taiwanese enterprises doing business across the Strait.

Fan Liqing, spokeswoman for the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office, said that the new rules will allow Taiwanese law firms to set up offices in Fuzhou and Xiamen, in east China's Fujian Province. The rules will set out a number of conditions, and will provide for the supervision of the Taiwanese law firms.
