SC gives life imprisonment instead of death to Priyadarshini Mattoo’s killer Santosh Kumar Singh

A Supreme Court Bench comprising of Justices Harjit Singh Bedi and Chandramauli Prasad has upheld the conviction of (Advocate) Santosh Kumar Singh who raped and then murdered a 3rd year law student, Priyadarshini Mattoo in 1996. The Court also reduced the death sentence of Santosh Kumar to life imprisonment.
