20th Century Fox takes a swipe at Indian film in Bombay HC
The upcoming film 'Knock Out' has run into legal troubles with Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation approaching the Bombay High Court seeking an injunction to stop AAP Entertainment Private Limited releasing of the film. The Hollywood studio has alleged copyright infringement and has said that the Hindi film is a near rip-off of their 2003 film entitled 'Phone Booth'. AAP Entertainment Private Limited is represented by entertainment law specialist Naik Paranjpe & Co, with a team led by partner Ameet Naik and Senior Counsel Iqbal Chagla, while the film's producer, Sohail Maklai, is represented by Senior Counsel Venkatesh Dhond. Fox is represented by Neolegal Associates, with a team led by partner Xerxes Ranina, and including Senior Counsels Virendra Tulzapurkar and Firoz Palkhivala.
