Linklaters to give German partners the same remuneration as EU partners
Linklaters has announced that it plans to move its German partners to the same remuneration package as their UK counterparts after next year’s pay review. The move is seen as a significant step in the integration of the firm’s international partnership. Until now, the firm has applied a general policy of scaling the lockstep in overseas offices to the profitability of the jurisdiction. However some offices are held at salaries of 70 to 90 per cent of the sums earned in the UK, and there has been some dissatisfaction over pay from the firm’s German partners, who are billing as much or more than their UK partners. Linklaters has stated that it intends to move as close as it can towards a system whereby as many partners as possible operate on a level playing field.
