Outsourcing industry growing at 20-30 % per year

Legal outsourcing can still be described as small. Of the $180 billion that Americans spend annually on legal services, only about $1 billion goes to outsourcers. But change is afoot, and clients are driving a shift toward ever-greater use of outsourcing to keep costs low. The industry is reportedly growing at a rate of 20-30 per cent a year, and a recent survey by the American Lawyer found that 47% of large firms had seen clients refuse to have hours billed to beginner lawyers. The industry looks set to undergo a significant shift, and large corporate firms – the biggest billers in the game - will be the most affected by the changes.
