McKenna Long & Aldridge introduces psych testing for recruitment

A number of law firms use "behavior" or "competence" interviews to assess candidates for recruitment, posing questions about the challenges that candidates have faced, their working style, and their problem-solving abilities. McKenna Long & Aldridge has taken the next step, requiring candidates take a psychological test as part of their callbacks. Jennifer Queen, the firm's head of recruiting and development, says that after examining the cost of attrition of recruits the test was designed ensure that the firm invested in the right candidates. The test now fits within an interview process that also involves assessment of grades and experience, examination of a writing sample and an interview.
