Indian Supreme Court Bar Association elects Parekh as president

Senior Advocate P.H. Parekh has been elected as the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) defeating two other candidates. Parekh polled 757 votes, putting him just two votes ahead of the second favourite Senior Advocate Adish C. Aggarwala. The last year’s president, Ram Jethmalani, came third with 735 votes. This will be the fifth time that Parekh has held the office of president of the SCBA. He commented: “There is lot of pending work to be done for the members of the SCBA and it will be my priority. My first priority is to see that the chambers are built for the members and genuine members are looked after”.
