Norton Rose merges with major law firms in Canada and South Africa

Norton Rose has merged with two law firms - Canada's Ogilvy Renault and South Africa's Deneys Reitz. The former will henceforth be known as Norton Rose OR LLP, while the latter will operate under the name Norton Rose South Africa (incorporated as Deneys Reitz Inc). After the mergers the firm has a headcount of over 2600 lawyers in 39 offices globally. The Norton Rose executive committee will expand to absorb Ogilvy Renault managing partner John Coleman, based in Montréal, and Deneys Reitz deputy chairman Rob Otty, based in Johannesburg. Otty has been appointed the Managing Director of Norton Rose South Africa.
