Brazil Law Firms to Boost Hiring Amid Merger Boom
Brazilian law firms specializing in mergers and acquisitions may hire 15 percent to 20 percent more lawyers in 2008 to deal with a wave of corporate takeovers, said Paulo Cezar Aragao of Barbosa, Mussnich & Aragao Advogados. Barbosa Mussnich, ranked sixth among merger legal advisers last year by Thomson Financial, may add 40 attorneys to its team of 200 as deals in the real estate and energy industries thrive.
