UK firm Allen & Overy is set to launch in Washington DC

UK firm Allen & Overy is set to launch of an office in Washington DC, which will be headed up by US banking head David Slade. The firm has also hired a trio of lawyers from O’Melveny & Myers for its new Washington DC base: financial services partners Barbara Stettner and Chris Salter, along with strategic counselling counsel Charles Borden, who joins the firm as a partner. A&O senior partner David Morley said the new launch represents “a strategic imperative of the firm and demonstrates our continued commitment to expand our presence in the US”. He added: “As the hub of US government, Washington DC is an incredibly important location for us.”
