Hillary Clinton presses India to open markets
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged India to work faster to open markets as part of the developing trade and political relationship between the US and India. The entry of foreign lawyers into the Indian legal market has been a hot political issue in India. Clinton’s opening remarks at high-level U.S.-Indian talks pointed out: "The stakes are high. So it is critical that this dialogue lead to concrete and coordinated steps that each of our governments take to produce real results." The range of bilateral issues to be addressed also includes a civilian nuclear accord, and counter-terrorism cooperation.
