US firms Baker & Daniels and Faegre & Benson consider merger
Baker & Daniels and Faegre & Benson have confirmed that they are in formal discussions regarding a potential merger between the two firms. If the tie-up proceeds, the combined firm would have between 750 and 800 lawyers. Thomas Froehle, Jr, chair and chief executive partner at Indianapolis firm Baker & Daniels, said that the two firms have been in formal merger talks for several months, and are working toward a proposal to put before their respective partnerships in October. "We consider this a great way to be aligned in the way in which we serve our clients, and it provides a lot of opportunities to our clients from both firms' perspectives," says Faegre business development director Adam Severson. "Each firm holds a very similar position in our primary geographic markets."
