Clifford Chance appoints Andrew Whan to lead corporate/M&A in Tokyo

Clifford Chance has relocated Hong Kong partner Andrew Whan to its Tokyo office to replace outgoing local head of corporate/M&A Alan Kitchin. Kitchen has left the firm a month ago to take retirement. He said of his departure: “After 35 years of practice I’ve decided to retire and pursue other interests. It’s been very rewarding and fulfilling and it’s time to do something different.” A spokesperson for the firm said: “We can confirm that Alan left Clifford Chance at the end of July. We wish him well in the future."
