Paul Hastings lays off 45 staff after outsourcing deal

Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker LLP has entered into an outsourcing agreement under which RR Donnelly will provide document processing services for the firm’s international network. As a result of the deal, the firm is making a round of layoffs in its legal support services. Spokesperson Allan Whitescarver confirmed that the firm will eliminate around 45 positions over the next five months, most of them in the Los Angeles office. The laid off employees have been offered a transition package that ‘exceeds industry norms’, including more than 90 days’ notice, a severance program and a performance bonus.
