Baker Donelson boosts Mississipi Litigation practice with new hire

Memphis-based Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz has boosted its litigation and pro bono practices with the hire of La'Verne Edney from a role as general counsel at the Mississippi Volunteer Layers Project. Edney joins the firm’s Jackson, Mississippi, office. "Because of Baker Donelson's reputation and the broadness of the types of cases that they handle, it became one of the firms that I was interested in," she said. The firm has a headcount of 527 lawyers across 17 offices in the southern states of the US as well as in London and Washington, D.C.
