A list of the best workplaces to work in Chicago has included two law firms: Sidley Austin and Perkins Coie. The list was published by The Chicago Tribune, and was based on a survey of employees by WorkPlace Dynamics. Sidley, which ranked eighth among the large employers, was said to encourage a “culture of collegiality” as one of its institutional values. To this end, the firm keeps partner compensation a secret, with the idea being that the secrecy will eliminate jealousies.
