Does secrecy on partner compensation really encourage a 'culture of collegiality'?

Sidley, which ranked eighth among the large employers, was said to encourage a “culture of collegiality” as one of its institutional values. To this end, the firm keeps partner compensation a secret, with the idea being that the secrecy will eliminate jealousies.
