‘Perjury is rampant’: Ram Jethmalani on Indian courts and the art of cross-examination

Legally India has posted an interview with senior counsel and BJP parliamentarian Ram Jethmalani, addressing the art of cross-examination, Adam & Eve and why political parties don’t care about foreign law firms. Jethmalani says that because perjury is 'rampant' in Indian courts, 'the art of cross-examination is a greater necessity as a part of the lawyer’s equipment'. He also criticizes aspects of court procedure, pointing out that cross-examining a witness months after the examination in chief occurs allows time for the parties to coach their witnesses.
