US firms compete with offshore outsourcing companies on price

A new report from legal outsourcing advisory firm Fronterion has claimed that even offshore outsourcing firms will feel the pinch of tough economic times in 2012. As wages rise in India, wage levels remain soft in developed countries, meaning that legal processing work might be more likely to stay close to home. For example, an offshore processing group might charge between $25-$35 an hour for basic legal services such as document review, while some US Midwest firms are now offering contract review for the same price. Fronterion predicts, however, that increasing familiarity with legal outsourcing will ultimately lead to further growth in the sector, with outsourcers explanding their offerings to contract management services and due diligence on mergers and acquisition transactions.
