Reports indicate more departures from BLP's banking and capital markets group

Rumour has it that seven associates have resigned from Berwin Leighton Paisner's Banking and Capital Markets group in the last week. According to Roll On Friday a spokesperson from the firm denied the reports, but would not provide a figure. The practice group has seen a run of departures over the past year, including top partner Tamara Box, who shifted to Reed Smith, and number of other partners that moved to Simmons & Simmons. A spokesman pointed to last March's announcement that the group was being restructured to focus on more profitable areas of work, and said that the firm is investing heavily in the group, with three new partners announced over the past few weeks, another due to be announced today and more to follow.
