Covington & Burling hires five lawyers for Shanghai Launch
Washington, D.C.-based firm Covington & Burling is waiting on regulatory approval for a new office in Shanghai, after hiring five lawyers from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Corporate finance partner Eva Wang and corporate and securities partner Michelle Edwards will leave Wilson Sonsini’s Shanghai office to join Covington in Beijing. The other three hires will join Covington’s China practice in Palo Alto. Corporate and securities partner Carmen Chang will join as senior of counsel, life sciences and clean technology partner Wei Zhou will join as a senior adviser, while mergers and acquisitions partner Scott Anthony will join the Palo Alto partnership.
