Canadian Lawyers Predict Additional Hiring in Next 12 Months

Many law firms and corporate legal departments expect to hire additional lawyers in the next 12 months, a new survey shows. Forty-five per cent of lawyers polled said they plan to hire additional personnel in the year ahead; just 3 per cent of respondents anticipate staff reductions. The specialty areas anticipated to grow the fastest, according to those surveyed, include bankruptcy, litigation, and ethics and corporate governance.
