Siemans UK hires former Vodafone commercial legal director as general counsel

Siemens UK has hired Claire Carless as its general counsel for Great Britain, calling her away from her former post as Vodafone’s commercial legal director. The new role has Carless overseeing a department of 35 lawyers serving the four main sectors under the nearly $7 billion Siemens U.K. umbrella: health care, energy, infrastructure, and industry. Carless said of the move: “My interest was sparked because of the drive that Siemens has in the renewable and regeneration businesses,” adding: “It’s clearly a very important aspect of the work that Siemens is doing—looking at how we can make the world a better, more sustainable place. That really struck a chord with me.”
