Dewey & LeBoeuf loses senior London partner to KPMG

Dewey & LeBoeuf has lost one of the firm’s most senior London partners, Fred Gander. Gander, a taxation specialist who has been with Dewey since 1991, will join KPMG as head of its US tax practice for Europe and the Middle East. His departure is the latest in a around 70 defections from Dewey & Leboeuf this year. The firm seems to be in very serious trouble, and is reportedly considering a restructuring in advance of a possible takeover or a closing down of its international network.
