Amarchand and Luthra lead league table of Indian dealmakers in the first quarter of 2012
A league table of dealmakers in the Indian legal services market has put Amarchand Mangaldas Suresh A Shroff & Co and Luthra & Luthra at the top of the list - each firm bringing in over $10bn worth of deals in the first quarter of 2012. Former frontrunner AZB & Partners was shunted down to third place. The deal that changed the rankings so drastically was the $14bn merger between mining conglomerate Vedanta’s Sterlite Industries unit and subsidiary Sesa Goa in February.
