Allen & Overy takes shears to Hong Kong partnership

June 18, 2012 Allen & Overy has trimmed its Hong Kong partnership, asking at least four partners to leave. The firm described the move as "an unfortunate business decision we had to make. We fully respect these partners and wish them the best".

And now there are rumours that another three partners may be asked to leave which, if true, would mean that the firm is reducing the Hong Kong partnership by over 25%, leaving just 18 partners the Hong Kong office.

There is no official word yet on the identities of the departing partners.
